Bayer Leverkusen head into the Bundesliga showdown against leaders Freiburg on Sunday with plenty of confidence following four consecutive wins across all competitions.
"I think that the match against Freiburg will be a decisive game because I believe both teams will be in good form, positive and full of energy. That can leads to a fantastic match," Leverkusen coach Carles Martinez said in a news conference on Friday.
Both Leverkusen and Freiburg are coming off mid-week victories in the Europa League and Conference League respectively.
"They're an aggressive team, a team that knows exactly what they want and then implement it. It's going to be a tough game. We must show our best performance," Martinez said.
Leverkusen will be without offensive players Christian Kofane and Martin Terrier, who suffered an injury during the Europa League clash against Lech Poznan.
"It will be difficult to have him in the squad on Sunday," Martinez said about Terrier.
Leverkusen are fourth in the Bundesliga standings, three points behind Freiburg.
