Milan’s talks with Markus Krösche over their vacant Head of Football role are continuing, but the German’s contract with Eintracht Frankfurt could complicate a deal.
According to GianlucaDiMarzio.com, citing Sky Sport Deutschland, Milan would have to pay between €5m and €7m to bring Krösche in before summer 2027. Eintracht relieved him of his duties at his own request on Sunday, but his contract, which runs until June 2028, remains valid.
Sportmediaset reports that Milan are reluctant to pay any compensation.
Krösche wants his own team at Milan
Krösche is also pushing for a full management structure to be built around him. Rather than serve as a traditional sporting director, he wants to keep working with his own team. That could include Timmo Hardung, reportedly his right-hand man at RB Leipzig and Frankfurt, although Affaritaliani suggests Hardung is likely to stay in Germany.
This is Milan’s second attempt to land the 46-year-old. Gerry Cardinale reached a verbal agreement with Krösche in the summer, only for Eintracht to block the move.
The director joined Frankfurt from Leipzig in 2021 and won the Europa League a year later. He built a reputation for selling players at significant profit during his time at the club.
