Kuwait Fire Force (KFF) Chief Major General Talal Al-Roumi affirmed Tuesday that Kuwait continues strengthening its efforts locally, regionally and internationally to reduce disaster risks and enhance emergency preparedness.
In a press statement marking the International Day for Disaster Risk Reduction, Al-Roumi said Kuwait, under the wise leadership of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, attaches great importance to strengthening its disaster risk management system and raising levels of readiness and preparedness to protect lives, property and national assets.
He added that Kuwait continues to develop its preventive and operational capabilities at the local level while enhancing coordination and integration among relevant authorities.
At the regional and international levels, Kuwait remains committed to strengthening cooperation and exchanging expertise with brotherly and friendly countries, particularly Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) member states, to enhance joint preparedness for emergencies and disasters.
Al-Roumi noted that Kuwait also continues its international humanitarian role in supporting countries and communities affected by disasters and contributing to global efforts to reduce disaster risks. He stressed that disaster management is no longer limited to responding after disasters occur but increasingly focuses on anticipating risks, strengthening prevention and enhancing preparedness.
Al-Roumi affirmed that KFF will continue developing its human and technical capabilities, utilizing modern technologies and strengthening national and international partnerships to establish an integrated system that ensures the highest levels of security and safety for society.
