Jenna Ortega made the first stop on her “Klara and the Sun” press tour on Wednesday, clad in a Calvin Klein design with a little scarf element at The Corinthia Hotel in London.
Joined by her dog Sig — the black whippet she adopted in 2024 while shooting the second season of “Wednesday” in Dublin — the actress’ look brought complemented her pup’s coat while also bringing color blocking and the silk scarf trend into focus. The design hailed from the American label’s spring 2027 ready-to-wear collection, making Ortega the most recent star to sport a spring design fresh off the runway.
The design included three distinct colors: black, white and yellow. The high-waisted maxiskirt, cast in black, featured a streamlined pencil silhouette with some exposed seaming for an asymmetric detail.
The bodice of the top was a crisp white, while the sleeves were cast in vibrant yellow, a slight nod to the bold color trend for the season. At the neckline, a black band of fabric created a flowing scarf motif that elevated the look ever-so-slightly.
The little silk scarf trend found its way onto the runway with spring 2026 collections and has matriculated to such retail brands as Abercrombie and Fitch, among others.
“I think people are craving pieces that feel expressive and emotional right now,” Yong Wang, cofounder of silk accessories label Lost Pattern, previously told WWD of the scarf trend. “A silk scarf is super versatile and has this rare ability to completely transform a look while still feeling personal and effortless.”
Ortega’s look becomes the latest to join the batch of celebrities who nabbed pieces from the spring 2027 runway and brought them onto their promotional tours and red carpets over the last few weeks. The Calvin Klein ensemble, designed by creative director Veronica Leoni, made its runway debut during New York Fashion Week last September.
The collection prioritized American minimalism, with references to the ’90s. “The collection was distinctively more evolved and elevated in fabric and silhouette, centering firmly around the founder’s rich ‘90s sportswear and minimalist archive, returning mostly to foundational wardrobing pieces that continue to stand the test of time, also seen through the wardrobe of Georgia O’Keeffe,” Emily Mercer wrote in WWD’s review of the collection.
Along with her Calvin Klein look, Ortega, who was styled by longtime collaborator Enrique Melendez, wore golden stacker mini hoop earrings by Suzanne Kalan, with platform booties by Christian Louboutin.
Based on the book by Kazuo Ishiguro, “Klara and the Sun” follows a robot girl designed to help a family heal from heartbreak. The film hits theaters Oct. 23.
