Some Congress leaders are using sting operations to divert people’s interest away from the failures of the State government. It has become very clear by now that media reports about sting operations is nothing but diversionary tactics, Union Minister Pralhad Joshi said on Sunday.
“What we are seeing all around us are reports about sting operations. Instead of catching those who are involved in such sting operations, the State government is catching those who posted the videos. There is a lot of discussion about them, but nothing else is happening,” he said.
He was speaking at a campaign meeting in Shejwad village in Uttar Kannada for party nominee in the Legislative Council polls S.V. Sankanur.
“When Union Minister H.D. Kumaraswamy tried to give evidence of some sting operations, the Congress government tried to arrest his followers, rather than use the documents to trace the real accused,” he said.
Mr. Joshi said that the Congress is joining hands with traitors and betrayers. There is a conspiracy to create anarchy in the country.
“That conspiracy is funded by forces from foreign countries. Some foreign powers are conspiring to destablise the BJP-led Union government. It is likely that the Cockroach Janta Party will merge with the Congress soon. However, we are all confident that Prime Minister Narendra Modi will again become Prime Minister for the fourth time in 2029,” he said.
He said that Congress is suffering from depression due to a string of failures. The Congress has no presence at all in some States, he added.
“For example, it has not won in West Bengal since 1977. Tamil Nadu did not have a single Congress Minister for a long time before 2026. The Congress has not formed a government in Gujarat and Uttar Pradesh for decades. The Congress is losing in the country because it does not have the strength to rise from dust. However, its leaders are wondering why Prime Minister Narendra Modi keeps winning, but they keep losing,” he said.
Congress leaders, including Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar behaved in an unfair manner with the former chairman of Legislative Council Basavaraj Horatti. “The 78-year-old leader, who has won eight elections, was forced to resign by the Congress leaders. Mr. Horatti has said that 20 MLAs came and forced him to tender his resignation. This is condemnable. But an NDA government will come to power in Karnataka in 2028,” Mr. Joshi said.
The former MLA Rupali Naik appealed to the Union Minister to take steps to solve unemployment prevalent among youth in the district.
BJP district unit president N.S. Hegde, the former Minister Anand Asnotikar, MLC Lingaraj Patil, BJP spokesperson Hariprakash Konemane, party leaders R.D. Hegde, Venkatesh Nayak, Guruprasad Hegde, Prashanth Nayak, Janata Dal(S) leader Suraj Nayak Soni, R.G. Nayak, Rajendra Nayak, M.G. Bhatt, Mohini Nayak and others were present.
