Glee may have ended its run back in 2015, but it turns out I still get the same rush from a great Klaine moment all these years later.
Over the weekend, stars Chris Colfer and Darren Criss, who portrayed on-screen schoolmates and eventual husbands Kurt Hummel and Blaine Anderson on the hit Fox musical series, reunited on stage to perform a surprise duet in London.
The pair joined forces during Criss’s one-night-only concert at the Royal Albert Hall, where they delivered a rendition of one of their most-memorable Glee covers: “Baby, It’s Cold Outside.”
Criss teased the audience at first, telling them that he would be doing the song solo. “It’s not supposed to be like that, but I’ve managed to pull off so many things,” he joked. Then, Colfer stepped out halfway through, making an allusion to the song’s controversial history by adding: “The only thing inappropriate about doing this song is doing it without me.”
The pair first covered the track together in season two, episode 10 of Glee, titled “A Very Glee Christmas,” and their cover eventually went on to peak at no. 57 on the Billboard Hot 100. Throughout the series, they would perform a number of popular duets together, including renditions of “Come What May” and “American Boy.”

The pair played on-screen love interests and eventual husbands on Glee.
Fittingly enough, their stage reunion took place only days before it was announced that a Glee reboot is in the works, with a series order at Disney+ and Hulu. The original show’s creator, Ryan Murphy, recently told Entertainment Tonight that he’s reached out to former members of the cast, and former lead Lea Michele has also expressed interest in joining a reboot.
However, Colfer recently told Bustle that he thinks it will be hard to accomplish the project following the passing of star Naya Rivera, who played Santana Lopez, in 2020. “It was a really tough show to do, and it would be really hard to do it now that Naya is gone,” he said. “But I do know that Glee fans would probably come after me with pitchforks and jazz hands if I said no. So I don’t know, but hopefully I’ll have more information and I can actually think about it.”
