At 12, Edward Kagutuzi was already exploring the possibilities of performance, moving between acting, dancing and singing. He could not have known that these childhood interests would take him from Uganda to international television and film productions, eventually bringing him back home with a different ambition: to help build an industry capable of telling African stories to the world.
His journey began with dance. After three years of professional dancing, he landed his first short-film role and decided to pursue acting as a career. Training and appearances on mainstream television followed, before The Mirror Boy, a Nigerian film directed by Obi Emelonye, gave him his international breakthrough.
