Before she could make her way there, a second call came in from doctors at the CDC Clinic while she was near Uhuru Gardens.
They told her to get to the hospital immediately because of an emergency. She arrived to find her baby already dead.
Sharon seeking answers over what happened
When she confronted the daycare attendant for answers, the woman told her the child had choked while being fed porridge, saying the food had gone down the wrong way.
Sharon found it difficult to accept that explanation, insisting her baby had been strong and healthy when she left that morning.
The family is now seeking answers about the exact circumstances of the infant's death and is appealing for assistance to bury the child upcountry.
Senator Karen Nyamu speaks directly with Sharon
Aspiring Kibra Member of Parliament Hon Timon Odhiambo visited the bereaved family and made a personal financial contribution to help them through the painful period.
He also contacted Nairobi Nominated Senator Karen Nyamu, who spoke directly with Sharon and pledged her support to the family.
The visits brought some attention to the family's plight, even as the circumstances surrounding the baby's death remain unclear.
