The National System Operator (NSO) expects to restore the national electricity grid by around 6.30 p.m. today (17), following a nationwide power failure, with electricity supplies being restored area by area since noon.
The NSO denied reports that several power plants had broken down following the total system failure, saying all hydropower plants that were operational before the incident are currently functioning and being used to restore the national grid.
In an update, the NSO said there were no reports of breakdowns at any power generation plant.
The Norochcholai Coal Power Plant has been shut down in accordance with standard procedures, it added.
