Six Ugandan football fans have won all-expenses-paid trips to the United Kingdom to experience English Premier League action live, courtesy of Guinness.
The winners are Brandon Semanda, Stephen Paul Anyaja, Bob Emmanuel Otim, Mark Buyondo, Tucker Kibirige and Malaika Nyanzi. They were announced at the Guinness Matchday watch party held on Sunday, October 11, 2026, at the Uganda Institute of Information and Communications Technology (UICT) Grounds in Nakawa.
Each winner will travel with a companion for the Premier League experience.
The competition was open to football fans, with winners determined through a quiz hosted by international sports commentator Andrew Kabura, featuring questions about the Premier League and Guinness.
The contest unfolded in two rounds. The first took place at half-time during the Liverpool versus Manchester City match, which was screened on giant screens at the venue. Interested fans answered a series of questions to qualify for the final round.
Eight contestants advanced to the knockout stage after the match, with six emerging as winners.
“Wow! Just wow!” said Malaika Nyanzi, the only female winner. “I had simply come to watch the games, but when the opportunity to win a ticket to the Premier League was announced, I decided to give it a shot. I never imagined I would walk away a winner. I’m really looking forward to the experience in the UK.”
The ticket handover ceremony was attended by the United Kingdom’s High Commissioner to Uganda, Lisa Chesney, alongside Uganda Breweries Limited Managing Director Felicite Nson and other senior company executives.
Denise Nazzinda, senior brand manager at Uganda Breweries Limited, said the Premier League ticket giveaway was one of the ways Guinness was going the extra mile for football fans.
“These fans have followed the Premier League passionately for years. Through Guinness Matchday, we want to reward that loyalty by giving fans the chance to win tickets to watch the action live in the UK. It is our way of giving back to the fans who bring so much passion to the game and making their love for football count for something EXTRA,” she said.
Nazzinda added that four more tickets would be available to fans at the next Guinness Matchday watch party, scheduled for Monday, October 12, 2026, at The Villa in Bukoto.
The Guinness Matchday watch parties continue to attract football enthusiasts and prominent figures from Uganda’s sporting community.
Sunday’s event featured musical performances by local artists Lil Pazo and Kalifah Aganaga. It also attracted former Uganda Cranes stars Emmanuel Okwi and Hassan Wasswa, among other notable personalities.
Guinness, the Official Beer of the Premier League, continues to strengthen its connection with Ugandan football fans through its Guinness Matchday and Guinness Matchday on Tour experiences.
Anchored in the Lovely Day for a Guinness campaign, with We Are Extra as its football expression, the brand aims to create shared matchday experiences that bring fans closer to the game and to one another.
