Itanagar, October 15: The Lower Subansiri district administration in Arunachal Pradesh has issued a final notice directing defaulting arms licence holders to complete physical verification of their firearms and licence booklets by October 30, 2026, warning that failure to comply will lead to licence cancellation.
According to an official order issued by the Deputy Commissioner on Thursday, all concerned licence holders under the Ziro administration must report to the Deputy Commissioner’s Office within the stipulated deadline for re-verification.
The order noted that repeated directives had been issued over the past two years, including on January 5, February 8 and August 1, 2024, and May 7, 2025. The state government had also reiterated the requirement through an order dated December 18, 2023.
However, several licence holders have allegedly failed to produce their firearms for inspection despite the repeated notices.
The administration has warned that no further extension will be granted. Those failing to comply by October 30 will face cancellation of their arms licences, while their records will be deactivated from the National Database of Arms Licenses-Arms License Information System (NDAL-ALIS) without further notice.
The district administration has urged all affected licence holders to complete the verification process within the deadline to avoid legal consequences and the loss of their firearm licences.
