An Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) on Wednesday rejected the post-arrest bail applications of four suspects arrested in a case involving the kidnapping of four Chinese nationals from Sector F-10 of the federal capital.
ATC Judge Abual Hasanat Muhammad Zulqarnain announced the decision after hearing arguments from both sides. During the hearing, the prosecutor submitted that the suspects had allegedly kidnapped the Chinese nationals for ransom and demanded payment in Bitcoin. He said the police had conducted an operation and recovered the hostages. The prosecutor further argued that the suspects were part of an organised gang involved in kidnapping for ransom. After hearing arguments from both sides, the court reserved its verdict and subsequently dismissed the bail applications of all four suspects. A case has been registered at Shalimar Police Station under the relevant provisions of the Anti-Terrorism Act, police said.
