The draw for the Saudi Super Cup, held at the St. Regis Hotel in Kuwait, has set the stage for two semi-final clashes as Kuwait prepares to host the tournament for the first time from December 19 to 23.
Al-Qadsiah will face Al-Ahli in the opening semi-final on December 19, while Al-Nassr will take on Al-Kholood on December 20. The final is scheduled for December 23 at Jaber Al-Ahmad International Stadium. The draw ceremony brought together senior officials from Kuwait and Saudi Arabia, representatives of the participating clubs, sports administrators and media figures, highlighting the sporting ties between the two countries.
Among those attending were Minister of State for Youth and Sports Affairs Dr. Tariq Al-Jalahma; Saudi Ambassador to Kuwait Prince Sultan bin Saad bin Khalid Al Saud; Kuwait Football Association Chairman Sheikh Ahmed Al-Yousef; Saudi Arabian Football Federation Secretary-General Majid bin Ali Al-Saheb; and representatives of the organising partners and participating clubs.
The ceremony opened with the national anthems of Kuwait and Saudi Arabia, followed by a video presentation tracing the tournament’s journey across domestic and international venues. Previous host cities included Makkah, Riyadh, Jeddah and Abha, as well as London, Abu Dhabi and Hong Kong. Kuwait will become the competition’s eighth host destination.

The event also celebrated the sporting connections between the two countries through a presentation highlighting the experiences of Kuwaiti footballers Ali Marwi and Bashar Abdullah in the Saudi league. Khaled Salah Al-Sayer, director of the Saudi Super Cup’s Kuwait edition, said the hosting initiative had benefited from the support and guidance of Kuwait’s leadership, reflecting the importance attached to youth, sports and the longstanding relationship between Kuwait and Saudi Arabia.
He expressed appreciation to the Saudi Football Federation for its confidence in the hosting arrangements and to the Saudi Media Group for its cooperation. He also thanked Kuwait’s government agencies and the Kuwait Football Association for their logistical and organisational support.

Al-Sayer praised the teams involved in preparing the hosting bid, noting that their efforts had helped bring the tournament to Kuwait. He described the draw as the formal start of the competition and welcomed the participating clubs, expressing hope that fans would enjoy a memorable football event showcasing the sporting capabilities of both countries.
The draw was supervised by Naeem Al-Bakr, head of the Saudi Football Federation’s competitions committee, with Marwi and Bashar Abdullah participating in the proceedings.
Kuwait’s hosting of the tournament follows an official partnership agreement involving Al-Rai Media Group, Aayan Leasing and Investment Company, and the Saudi Football Federation, represented by its exclusive commercial partner, SMC Vibes–Saudi Media Group. Zain is the hosting partner.

The tournament is expected to bring together Saudi football supporters and regional sports audiences for four days of competition, with ticketing details expected to be announced soon, according to statements carried by local media.
