Milwaukee Brewers legend Paul Molitor will throw the ceremonial first pitch before Game 2 of the World Series between the Brewers and the Tampa Bay Rays on Saturday night, Oct. 24, at American Family Field.
From 1978 through 1992, Molitor was an icon of Brewers baseball. He was a four-time all-star, won two Silver Slugger awards and batted .302 while accumulating 2,086 hits and 148 home runs.
In the 1982 World Series, Molitor hit .355 and scored five runs. In Game 1 of that series, he had a Series-record five hits in six at-bats and two RBIs in the Brewers' 10-0 win.
With the Toronto Blue Jays in 1993, he won the World Series and was named the series MVP.
The Brewers retired Molitor’s No. 4 in 1999 and he was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in 2004.
Molitor's Brewers teammate, Robin Yount, and former Brewers owner and Major League Baseball commissioner Bud Selig threw out the first pitches for Game 1.
