Legendary British guitarist Steve Hackett, best known for his work with progressive rock band Genesis, will return to Portugal in October 2027 for two concerts celebrating his musical career.
The musician has chosen Portugal to open the European leg of his Best of Genesis & Solo Gems tour, with performances scheduled for October 30 at Lisbon’s Coliseu dos Recreios and October 31 at Coliseu do Porto Ageas.
The new show will combine some of Genesis’ best-known songs and fan favourites with highlights from Hackett’s extensive solo career, taking audiences on a journey through decades of progressive rock.
Hackett, who played with Genesis from 1971 to 1977, helped shape the band’s distinctive sound during some of its most celebrated years, contributing to albums including Selling England by the Pound, The Lamb Lies Down on Broadway and A Trick of the Tail.
In a message to Portuguese fans, the guitarist expressed his enthusiasm about returning to the country.
“Hello, Portugal! I’m very happy to be returning to your country in 2027 with my new show, Best of Genesis & Solo Gems, for two great concerts,” he said, adding that he hopes to see many Genesis fans at both performances.
Hackett will be accompanied by his touring band, featuring Nad Sylvan on vocals, Lalle Larsson on keyboards, Jonas Reingold on bass and guitar, Rob Townsend on saxophone, flute and additional keyboards, and Felix Lehrmann on drums.
The concerts promise a mixture of Genesis classics and solo material, performed by musicians who have worked with Hackett over several years.
Tickets for both concerts are now on sale.
