Vivo X Fold 6 vs Google Pixel 11 Pro Fold: Which foldable is easier to live with?

Foldables have reached a point where a screen that folds in half is no longer enough. At close to Rs 2 lakh, you are paying for a phone that has to be excellent at cameras, performance, battery life, and multitasking, all at once, and you are carrying it around every day. That is the standard I held the Vivo X Fold 6 and the Google Pixel 11 Pro Fold to. The Vivo brings a 200MP camera, a powerful MediaTek chipset and a large battery. The Pixel counters with Google’s software, its AI features and a more refined foldable experience. One of them is clearly ahead in some areas, and the other fights back where I did not expect it. I tested both at Digit Test Labs. Here is what I found.

Vivo X Fold 6 vs Google Pixel 11 Pro Fold: Design

When you spend this much on a foldable, the experience of carrying it around matters as much as the big screen. The Vivo X Fold 6 follows the familiar book-style design, with a circular camera module on the back. I used the Prism Black variant, and the fine vertical lines on the back give it a more distinctive finish than a plain black panel. It feels comfortable to hold, although the camera module protrudes quite noticeably.

The Pixel 11 Pro Fold takes a more understated approach. Google has refined the design instead of reinventing it, with a satin textured glass fibre composite back, an aluminium frame and a smaller camera module. I particularly like the wider outer display, because when the phone is folded, it feels much closer to using a regular smartphone.

The Vivo measures 9.4mm when folded and 4.4mm when unfolded, and weighs 228 grams. The Pixel is 10.1mm thick when folded and weighs 239 grams. So the Vivo is slimmer and lighter, which helps when you carry it all day.

Both phones have visible creases on their inner displays, although Google’s updated hinge is designed to make the crease less prominent. Both devices have a side-mounted fingerprint sensor which work fast and reliable, while the Pixel brings built-in magnetic support for Qi2 accessories. For durability, the Vivo has IP58, IP59, IPX8 and IPX9 ratings, while the Pixel has an IP68 rating.

Vivo X Fold 6 vs Google Pixel 11 Pro Fold: Display

Both phones have very good displays, but our Digit Tes Labs results show some interesting differences. The Vivo X Fold 6 has an 8.02-inch AMOLED inner display and a 6.51-inch cover display. The Pixel 11 Pro Fold has an 8-inch LTPO OLED inner display and a 6.5-inch outer display. Both support a 120Hz refresh rate, so scrolling and animations feel smooth on either phone.

Start with brightness. Google claims up to 3,600 nits on both displays. In our testing, the Pixel reached around 3,750 nits on the outer screen and 3,220 nits on the inner display. Vivo claims an even higher peak brightness of 5,000 nits on both screens, but our testing measured around 3,200 nits on the outer display and 2,860 nits on the inner display. Despite Vivo’s higher advertised figure, the Pixel delivered better measured brightness on both screens. In practice, both are easy to read outdoors, but the Pixel has the edge.

Colour accuracy comes next. In our Calman colour test, the Pixel recorded an average Delta E of 1.64, while the Vivo scored 1.78. Lower is better, so Google has a slight lead in accuracy. In the colour gamut test, however, the Vivo covered 98.92%, compared to 97.66% on the Pixel.

The results are close. The Pixel is slightly more accurate, while the Vivo covers more of the measured colour gamut. Both support HDR formats, including Dolby Vision, and show vibrant colours with deep blacks.

In everyday use, I personally preferred the Pixel 11 Pro Fold display. I watched Koffee with Karan on JioHotsar and watched Alchemy of Souls on Netflix on both devices on their inner displays, and the Pixel’s display produces better colour than the Vivo’s.

Vivo X Fold 6 vs Google Pixel 11 Pro Fold: Performance

This is where the gap becomes much more obvious. The Vivo X Fold 6 runs on the MediaTek Dimensity 9500 Super Edition, while the Pixel 11 Pro Fold uses Google’s Tensor G6. If you care about gaming and raw graphics performance, the Vivo has a significant advantage.

In our testing, the Vivo scored 2,806,922 in Antutu, while the Pixel managed 1,047,605. That is a massive difference. Geekbench is more interesting. The Vivo scored 1,571 in single-core and 5,292 in multi-core, while the Pixel scored 2,272 in single-core and 5,593 in multi-core. Despite its much lower Antutu score, the Pixel leads in Geekbench.

GPU performance goes back to the Vivo. In the 3DMark Wild Life Extreme test, the Vivo scored 5,471, while the Pixel managed 2,812. That is a substantial lead in this graphics benchmark.

Here is the interesting part. Neither phone handles sustained workloads particularly well. In our CPU throttling test, the Vivo dropped to 53% stability, while the Pixel retained 61%. Both showed performance degradation under sustained load, although the Pixel kept a slightly higher share of its peak performance.

In everyday use, both phones feel responsive, and the large inner displays make multitasking convenient. Gaming is where the Vivo pulls ahead. In BGMI, the Vivo supports up to 90 FPS, while the Pixel is limited to 60 FPS. I managed to get consistent frame rates on both devices, but the Vivo gives you the higher frame rate option for a smoother experience. But still, it’s very disappointing to see that a phone priced at around Rs 2 lakh still doesn’t support 120 FPS gaming.

If gaming and GPU performance matter to you, the Vivo is the stronger choice. The Pixel is capable for everyday use, but the Vivo gives you considerably more graphics headroom.

Vivo X Fold 6 vs Google Pixel 11 Pro Fold: Software and Multitasking

Hardware is only half the story with a foldable. The software has to make that large inner screen useful. The Vivo X Fold 6 runs OriginOS 7 based on Android 17, while the Pixel 11 Pro Fold also runs Android 17, with Google’s own Pixel experience. Vivo has some useful foldable-specific features.

Origin Workbench lets you keep a primary task open alongside up to four supporting tasks. Multi-Split Screen lets you run up to four apps side by side. Picture a document open while you check email, browse the web and look at another app, without switching between them. That is where the Vivo makes good use of its large screen.

Google focuses on its Pixel software experience, AI integration and practical multitasking. The Pixel feels fast and responsive, and its 16GB of RAM gives it plenty of room to handle multiple apps.

For me, the choice comes down to how you use a foldable. The Vivo offers more flexible multitasking tools, while Google offers a streamlined experience and its AI features.

Vivo X Fold 6 vs Google Pixel 11 Pro Fold: Cameras

Coming to the cameras. The Vivo X Fold 6 has a triple camera setup co-engineered with ZEISS, featuring a 200MP primary camera with OIS, a 50MP telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom and a 50MP ultrawide camera. The Pixel 11 Pro Fold has a 48MP main camera with OIS, a 10.8MP periscope telephoto with 5x optical zoom and a 10.5MP ultrawide camera.

On the main camera, both phones capture detailed daylight photos with pleasing colours and good contrast. The Vivo tends to produce slightly more saturated images than the Pixel, which makes its shots look more vibrant and ready for social media straight out of the camera. Both phones also have impressive HDR, retaining detail in bright areas without losing the shadows.

For portraits, both phones do a good job, but the Vivo takes a clear lead. Its portraits look better in detail, contrast and overall image quality. The biggest difference is edge detection. The Vivo separates the subject from the background much better, capturing even tiny strands of hair and fine details around the subject that the Pixel can sometimes miss.

The Vivo is ahead on the ultrawide as well. Its larger 50MP sensor captures more detail and sharper-looking images. The Pixel has a 10.5MP ultrawide with a 127-degree field of view, along with Macro Focus. The Vivo delivers better detail, but the Pixel still offers useful versatility for wide scenes and close up shots.

Selfies are more interesting. The Vivo’s 20MP outer selfie camera captures more detail, but the Pixel’s 10MP outer camera produces better-looking selfies overall, with more reliable edge detection. More megapixels do not necessarily mean better selfies here.

On the inner displays, the Vivo’s 20MP selfie camera performs better than the Pixel’s 10MP camera. It captures better colours and does a better job with edge detection, which makes it the stronger option for selfies and video calls when you use the phones unfolded.

Vivo X Fold 6 vs Google Pixel 11 Pro Fold: Battery and Charging

A foldable has two screens to power, and that can make a big difference. The Vivo X Fold 6 has a 6,900mAh battery with 80W fast charging. The Pixel 11 Pro Fold has a 4,806mAh battery and supports 30W wired charging.

In our PCMark battery test, the Vivo lasted 23 hours and 31 minutes. In everyday use, it comfortably lasted more than a day. Even an hour of Google Maps used only around 4% of the battery, and 15 minutes of BGMI drained just 3%. The Pixel delivered 16 hours and 21 minutes in the same test. That is a solid result for a foldable, and moderate use should get you through a full day, but the Vivo has a substantial lead in our testing.

Charging also favours the Vivo. It took around 1 hour and 10 minutes to charge from 0 to 100%, while the Pixel took around 1 hour and 41 minutes. Google does have the advantage in wireless charging, with support for 25W magnetic wireless charging through Qi2.2.

Overall, the Vivo wins this round comfortably, for both endurance and wired charging speed.

Vivo X Fold 6 vs Google Pixel 11 Pro Fold: Verdict

The Vivo X Fold 6 is the stronger choice if you want a thinner, lighter foldable with much better graphics performance, a versatile camera system and excellent battery life. The Google Pixel 11 Pro Fold counters with a wider outer display, strong colour accuracy, Google’s image processing, a 5x telephoto camera and a refined software experience.

The price difference is worth considering too. The Vivo costs Rs 2,19,999 and the Pixel costs Rs 1,86,999, which makes the Vivo Rs 33,000 more expensive.

If battery life, gaming and camera hardware are your priorities, the Vivo makes a compelling case. If you want Google’s software experience, its AI features and a more affordable way into premium foldables, the Pixel deserves your attention.
