Real Madrid winger Yan Diomande
Real Madrid manager, José Mourinho, has told Yan Diomande he must improve his finishing if he is to realise his full potential at the club.
As reported by Fabrizio Romano on Monday, speaking after the team’s victory against Sevilla on Sunday, Mourinho expressed satisfaction with the young winger’s overall contribution but identified a clear area for development.
“I am very happy with Diomande. He has a lot to work on, and he has many things he needs to improve. He needs to work on his finishing,” Mourinho said.
The Portuguese coach added, “He gets to a lot of dangerous positions, but he needs to learn to relax more and make a better decision in last touch.”
Diomande, the 19-year-old Ivory Coast international who joined Real Madrid from RB Leipzig in a high-value summer transfer, has shown promising movement and an ability to arrive in threatening areas.
Mourinho believes those qualities provide a strong foundation, but insists greater composure and better decision-making in the final third are essential for the attacker to progress.
