Auburn football could not keep the momentum from last week's win over then-No. 1 Georgia on its side Saturday.
LSU's offense torched Auburn on Saturday, outgaining the home team, 552-271, on its way to a 38-17 win in Jordan-Hare Stadium.
A loss like this, on the outside, can be credited to the high of Auburn's win in Athens last week. However, Auburn quarterback Byrum Brown, who was a bright spot for Auburn's offense on Saturday, believes his team's response to the win was positive, but it did not translate to a win on Saturday.
"I feel like (the response) was good internally; clearly (we) got to have it translated into Saturday," Brown, who had 181 total yards on Saturday, said postgame. "Just lick our wounds and go back to work. Put our heads down, go back to work. That's it."
Brown had several high points on Saturday, so did several others. Here are the Tigers of the Game from Auburn football's 38-17 loss to LSU on Saturday.
Taylor Jones: Byrum Brown
Auburn's offense had very few bright spots on Saturday, but Byrum Brown helped his team by making minimal mistakes. Brown passed for 160 yards and scored a rushing touchdown on Saturday. He was also involved in nine of Auburn's 11 "big plays", plays that gain at least 10 yards. His two best plays include a 34-yard run in the 2nd quarter that set up his 1-yard touchdown run, and a 23-yard pass to Jeremiah Koger in the 4th quarter.
Phillip Jordan: Kaleb Harris
Kalen Harris led all tacklers with nine on Saturday, tying a season-best. He last recorded nine tackles in Auburn's loss to Florida in Week 3 and has logged at least five tackles in four games this season.
Jac Myrick: Keshaun Singleton
Singleton was Auburn's top receiver on Saturday, hauling in four catches for 64 yards. Singleton began the day by hauling in two 17-yard catches, and all four of his receptions went for over 10 yards.
Fan vote: Keshaun Singleton
Auburn fans have spoken. Fans voted Keshaun Singleton as the Tiger of the Game for his efforts in Auburn's loss to LSU on Saturday. He received 50% of the vote, beating out Eric Winters, Kaleb Harris, and Byrum Brown for the crown.
