Varna's Autumn Gallery Night offers residents and visitors a chance to meet artists, explore galleries and try their hand at making art. On Friday and Saturday, galleries and other venues will stay open late, with exhibitions of paintings, contemporary art, design and crafts, alongside film screenings, music and stalls selling handmade goods.
The event opens at the Museum of Modern History of Varna, where Odessos district mayor Yanislava Shopova will present awards to the winners of a school essay competition entitled "My Odessos District". The programme is organised in cooperation with the district administration and the Talyana Association.
One of the highlights is "The Sea Connects Us", a collaborative weaving project at the KrasiArt craft studio. Visitors can help weave a panel that will later be presented as a gift to Odessos district.
At the Behemoth arts and culture space, visitors can also become part of the artwork itself. "Zen", an interactive installation by Zdravko Minchev and Tsvetan Momchilov, brings together textiles and music, allowing people to create sounds simply by touching the fabric.
