DIMAPUR: Lotha Baptist Churches Association (LBCA) Youth Department held its 19th Annual Youth Pastors/Leaders Conference on October 17 and 18, 2026 at Bhandari Town Baptist Church under the theme, “In a Time Such as This” (Esther 4:14).
The conference brought together 57 youth pastors/directors and youth executives, along with more than 308 delegates. The programme was officially opened by LBCA executive secretary, Rev. Dr. Renbi Rangthang, who led the gathering in prayer, seeking God’s grace and mercy upon the conference.
Delivering the opening message on October 17, Dr. O. James Kithan, associate pastor of Wokha Village Baptist Church, spoke from Esther 4:14 and 1 Timothy 4:12. He urged youth pastors and delegates to be proactive and committed in their ministry among young people amid present-day challenges. Emphasising God’s abiding presence, he said that God’s apparent silence did not indicate His absence, noting that His grace and mercy continued to sustain His people even in difficult times.
On October 18, Dr. Yilobemo Humtsoe, senior pastor of Lotha Baptist Church, Seitheke Basa, led the Bible study session. He challenged participants to remain steadfast in discipleship and strengthen their faith in Jesus Christ. He stressed that those whose faith was firmly rooted in the Word of God would be able to withstand life’s challenges and would not be misled by false teachings, prophecies, practices or worldly influences.
The concluding message was delivered by Dr. Chenijan Patton, youth secretary of the Lotha Baptist Churches Association. Speaking from Nehemiah 1:1-8 and Matthew 5:13-16, he called on believers to rebuild their hearts before seeking to rebuild the church and society. He said genuine renewal begins when individuals recommit themselves to God through prayer and seek His purpose and will. He further emphasised that rebuilding could only begin after the renewal of one’s heart and mind through surrender to God’s grace and mercy.
During the two-day conference, Mhao Ngullie, youth director of Chukitong Baptist Church, served as pianist, while the Bhandari Town Baptist Church Choir led the congregation in hymn singing. The Borlengri Lotha Baptist Church Youth Department conducted the praise and worship sessions throughout the conference.
Special presentations were made by the Tiyichan Lotha Baptist Church Choir and the Sanis Village Baptist Church Choir on October 17, while the Phiro Baptist Church Choir and the Bhandari Town Baptist Church Choir performed on October 18.
The LBCA expressed gratitude to Bhandari Town Baptist Church, member churches, youth pastors, directors, presidents, delegates, LBCA staff, friends and well-wishers for their support and contributions towards the successful conduct of the conference.
