Consul of Sri Lanka to the Kurdistan Region of Iraq, Dr. Ahmed Jalal, and two delegation officials met Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna (JVP) General Secretary Tilvin Silva at the party headquarters today (15).
Discussions covered Sri Lanka’s diplomatic and economic relations with the Kurdistan Region, including cooperation in tourism, agriculture and tea exports. Dr. Jalal also discussed efforts to explore employment opportunities for Sri Lankans in Iraq.
The meeting also addressed current political and security developments in the Gulf region and the situation in Iraq. (Newswire)
