ⓘ Minisforum
The Minisforum Elite Mini M2 Slim is a newly added mini PC to the company's portfolio, and at its core, it's the same system as the M2 Air. Among all, the only notable difference is that the newly introduced model comes with a black chassis, and it starts at $399.
Minisforum has quietly launched a not-so-new mini PC, the Elite Mini M2 Slim. It has a pretty much identical spec sheet to the M2 Air, and the only notable difference is the chassis.
While the Elite Mini M2 Slim comes with a black chassis, Minisforum offers the M2 Air in white. There's also no barebone option available for the former, which isn't really much of a difference to note.
As for the core specs, like the M2 Air, the M2 Slim is powered by the Intel Core 3 304, an entry-level processor from the Wildcat Lake series. It's paired with up to 16GB of RAM, and there's only one M.2 slot available for storage. The good part is that the mini PC has a TF card slot, which will enable quick and easy storage expansion.
With a 0.47-liter chassis, the mini PC stays true to its name, and it has VESA mount support, allowing users to get a clean setup. Another notable highlight of the M2 Slim is the dual 2.5GbE ports, which make it a good pick for a lightweight home media server.
For wireless connectivity, the Minisforum M2 Slim has WiFi 6E and Bluetooth 5.4. The port configuration is decent as well, with the USB4 being the highlight (Lenovo ThinkPad USB4 dock curr. $228.36 on Amazon). Among the others are two USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-A ports, one USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-C, and two HDMI 2.0 ports.
Other notable aspects include a low-noise blower fan cooler, up to 28W TDP mode, and triple 4K display output support. Minisforum is offering the mini PC with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage as the starting configuration, and it costs $399. The top-end config has 16GB of memory and a 512GB SSD, which costs $503.
