US LBM Coaches Poll No. 8 Notre Dame was one of a handful of top-10 teams this past weekend that fell victim to an upset.
Despite taking a step back, ESPN writer Mark Schlabach has the Fighting Irishstill reaching the College Football Playoff in their latest bowl projections. “Notre Dame is guaranteed a spot in the field if it is among the top-12 teams,” the report stated.
Schlabach has No. 6 Notre Dame facing No. 3 Ohio State in the Rose Bowl Game of the CFP quarterfinal round. Schlabach has the Irish beating the Buckeyes and moving on to go up against No. 2 Miami in the Orange Bowl of the CFP semifinal round.
Notre Dame’s run will end there when it loses to the Hurricanes. Schlabach, and fellow ESPN writer Kyle Bonagura, have Miami taking on No. 4 Georgia in the CFP National Championship in Las Vegas, Nevada.
