On Tuesday, the Social Insurance Committee supported beginning preparatory work on an urgent moratorium on the so-called teenage deportations.
The aim is to prevent the deportation of people who were granted residence permits in Sweden because of family ties when they were children.
They can prepare the proposal; there was nothing we could do to stop them. But we had a lot of questions yesterday that went unanswered. We are not particularly in agreement on this issue because the problem has not yet been specified for us, says Jessica Stegrud.
She thinks the proposed moratorium is far too vague. The only definition is that the people had temporary residence permits because of family ties when they were children.
There is no information about when this happened, whether it was a long time ago, or whether the parents may have returned home and still be there. There are many such question marks that need to be resolved, says Stegrud.
