Eric Dane detailed the drug addiction he struggled with during his 20s in his posthumous memoir, “My Book of Days: A Memoir in Moments.”
“I call that my dark period. I auditioned for a few roles, got cast in some, but mainly I did drugs,” the “Grey’s Anatomy” alum wrote in an excerpt obtained by People.
“I got high, I got stoned, I got wasted, I shot up, I freebased, I did every drug imaginable,” he shared before running down the staggering list of drugs he tried.
“Here’s a partial list: Booze, pot, acid. Heroin. Cocaine. Mushrooms. Mescaline. Crystal meth. Crack. Painkillers. Fistfuls of painkillers. Buckets of painkillers. Vicodin, Percocet, OxyContin, you name it, everything on the market,” Dane penned.
“All the benzos. Xanax. Valium. All the muscle relaxers. All the uppers. Adderall. Ritalin,” he added.
“I don’t think there’s a drug I didn’t try.”
Elsewhere in the book, Dane recalled when his youngest daughter, Georgia, 14, saved him from drowning during a family vacation to Antigua following his Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) diagnosis in 2025.
The “Last Ship” alum said he lost his ability to swim while in the water.
Dane passed away on Feb. 19, less than one year after he announced his ALS diagnosis. He was 53.
Per his death certificate, the “Euphoria” actor died of respiratory failure.
Additionally, his underlying cause of death was a result of ALS, a progressive nervous system disease that affects nerve cells in the brain and spinal cord, per Mayo Clinic.
Dane is survived by his two daughters, Billie, 16, and Georgia, whom he shares with wife Rebecca Gayheart.
Dane’s posthumous memoir, “My Book of Days: A Memoir in Moments,” is slated for release on Nov. 3.
