… Says general elections require organization, discipline
The Presidential Campaign Council of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC-PCC) has opened a dedicated website, asking all the support groups of the party to formally register within five days period.
The campaign council said the forthcoming 2027 elections required organisation, discipline and sustained engagement, hence the need to formally register.
Addressing a press conference Sunday in Abuja, Director, support groups mobilisation directorate of the PCC, Silas Agara, said his team has mandate to coordinate the groups, strengthen their organisational capacity and ensure that their activities complement the broader objectives of the APC presidential campaign.
According to him, support groups are a vital link between the party, the campaign organisation and the Nigerian people. They bring together communities, professional associations, interest groups and volunteers, helping to communicate the administration’s policies, explain its achievements and engage citizens on issues that matter to them.
He said: “Today, we are officially launching our online support group registration portal at https://www.pccsupportgroups.
“The portal goes live today, 17 October 2026, and will remain open for five days, closing on 22 October 2026.
“We therefore call on all support groups and volunteer networks working for President Tinubu’s re-election to register within this window, irrespective of whether they have previously registered with the party or another campaign structure.
“This registration exercise will enable us to verify participating groups, understand their geographical spread and organisational capacity, and establish a reliable database for effective coordination and nationwide engagement.
“I urge every group to take this exercise seriously. Our objective is to build a unified mobilisation structure that is organised, accountable, responsive and prepared for the demands of the campaign ahead.”
While charging the support groups and all members to take the message to the grassroots, Agara said the mobilisation effort will be anchored on the record of the Tinubu administration and its Renewed Hope Agenda.
“Over the past three years, President Tinubu has undertaken major economic and institutional reforms aimed at addressing longstanding structural challenges and placing Nigeria on a path towards sustainable growth.
“I therefore call on all support groups across the federation to rise to this responsibility.
“Let us take the message to our communities, workplaces, markets and neighbourhoods. Let us build bridges across differences, promote constructive dialogue and mobilise support through credible engagement, service and responsible conduct.
“To our support group leaders and members, the message is clear: register within the stipulated period, remain active and work closely with the Directorate. We need unity of purpose, effective coordination and a shared commitment to the success of our campaign.
“As we launch this portal, I invite the media to help publicise the registration window and inform eligible support groups of the opportunity to participate.
“Together, let us build a stronger mobilisation platform in support of national development, shared prosperity and the Renewed Hope Agenda.”
