Pros
- Realistic appearance
- Well-lit with 650 incandescent lights
- Two different styles of branch tips
Cons
- Bulky even when taken apart and stored
This Douglas Fir won our top spot because it’s realistic, easy to set up, and well-priced for what you get.
There are 650 lights pre-strung, which is more than most of the other models we tested, along with hundreds of branch tips that are down-swept, which helps give the tree a more tapered, natural appearance.
The tree also has two different types of tips, so you get similar versatility as you would on a real tree. Fluffing took some time, but by the end of setup we achieved a full-looking Christmas tree that brought us some early holiday cheer.
The only potential drawback (not a dealbreaker in our opinion) is that the tree is on the bulky side if you have limited storage.

Pros
- Storage bag and gloves included
- Lights connect internally through the trunk
- High branch-tip count
Cons
- Branch tips are flatter
One of our favorite features on this blue spruce is that instead of having to connect cords between each section, the lights connect through the tree trunk. That means there’s only one cord to plug into the wall outlet.
There are 500 pre-strung lights, and over 1200 branch tips, so we were able to disguise the hinges. The tree is divided into three sections that came labeled, and they were easy to insert into the base.
You also get a massive storage bag, gloves, and a metal stand for the tree, so it’s a great value.

Pros
- Realistic branch tips
- Full-bodied appearance
- Ample lights
Cons
- Only multicolor lighting option
Multicolor lights can be a step up from traditional white lights, adding more vibrancy and festiveness to your holiday decor.
This pre-lit Winchester pine has several hundred branch tips and is decked in 500 multicolor lights. Similar to our other National Tree Company selection, the branches are two different textures to give it a more realistic feel. The branches are pre-attached and hinged, so they fold up and down easily.
This tree is 7.5-feet tall, so it may take longer to fluff and decorate than a shorter model.

Pros
- Great space-saver
- Simple setup
- Full branch tips
Cons
- Wire from lights is more noticeable in some areas
If you want a traditional tree with a smaller footprint, opt for a slim design. This model doesn't look too pencil-like, and it has more fullness than other trees that we've reviewed or tested.
The setup process is very simple. The tree is divided into three sections, all of which are labeled to help you differentiate. The lights are pre-strung, so all we had to do was release the hinged branches and fluff.
The green wires from the lights are a little noticeable, but they can easily be covered by ornaments.

Pros
- Lots of branch tips for fullness
- Warm-white lights
- Metal stand comes with plastic caps
Cons
- Falling snow-flock might be messier
This snow-flocked, full-bodied Christmas tree is a great way to bring winter wonderland aesthetics to your home. There are 1200 snowy branch tips, and it's pre-lit with 550 warm, white incandescent lights.
The tree is divided into three sections that attach to the metal tree trunk, and the branches are hinged so that they fall into place once they’re set up. Just fluff and decorate and you’re ready to celebrate.
A foldable metal stand is included, along with plastic caps to prevent it from scratching hardwood or laminate floors.

| Bulb Count | 550 incandescent |
| Sizes Available | 4.5, 6, 7.5, 9, 12 ft. |

Pros
- Comes with decorations in addition to lights
- Includes a metal stand
Cons
- Fewer branch tips for its size than other models we cover
A pre-decorated pre-lit Christmas tree means less holiday decor to store off-season. This model is fully dressed in pine cones, berries, snow-flocked tips, along with 250 incandescent lights that are evenly dispersed throughout.
There are 818 branch tips in total on the tree, which is on the lower end compared to other models of the same size. Still, it may be a good choice for those who like to decorate with garland, tinsel, and lots of ornaments. The manufacturer suggests between 30 to 45 minutes of setup time to get the full effect.
