Kohima, October 16: The Naga People’s Front (NPF) has expressed concern over the tense situation and reported conflict between the Yimkhiung and Tikhir communities in Eastern Nagaland, appealing to both sides to maintain peace and exercise restraint.
In a statement, the party said the two communities shared the same blood, history and struggle, stressing that any conflict between them affected the larger Naga family.
The NPF urged both communities to refrain from violence and provocation, emphasising the need to preserve unity and prevent further escalation of tensions.
It also appealed to the Yimkhiung Tribal Council and the Tikhir Tribal Council to initiate dialogue and resolve their differences through customary laws and traditional wisdom.
The party called for mutual understanding and peaceful engagement, underscoring the importance of collective efforts to restore harmony between the two communities.
