BYD has unveiled the all-electric Atto 8 at the 2026 Paris Motor Show, introducing a large seven-seat SUV with up to 653 km of WLTP range and ultra-fast charging technology.
The Atto 8 is positioned as a premium electric SUV and will be offered in both rear-wheel-drive and all-wheel-drive configurations.
European sales are expected to begin in the first quarter of 2027.
Up to 653 KM Range and 764 HP
Both versions of the Atto 8 use a 115 kWh second-generation Blade Battery. The Design RWD version uses a single rear-mounted electric motor producing 340 kW, or around 456 hp.
It delivers up to 653 km of WLTP range and can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 8.0 seconds.
The more powerful Excellence AWD adds a second motor at the front, increasing total output to 570 kW, or around 764 hp.
It produces 775 Nm of torque, completes the 0–100 km/h sprint in 4.6 seconds, and offers up to 602 km of WLTP range.

10% to 97% Charging in Nine Minutes
The Atto 8 introduces BYD’s FLASH Charging technology.
BYD claims the system can charge the battery from 10% to 70% in five minutes and from 10% to 97% in nine minutes when connected to compatible high-power charging infrastructure.
The company also says the battery can charge from 20% to 97% in 12 minutes at temperatures as low as -30°C.
These figures are manufacturer claims and depend on access to suitable FLASH Charging hardware.
BYD plans to install 3,000 FLASH Charging stations across Europe by the end of 2027.
Seven-Seat Premium Interior
The Atto 8 offers seating for seven passengers, placing it above BYD’s smaller SUVs in terms of passenger capacity.
The first two rows feature heating, ventilation, and massage functions, reinforcing its premium positioning.
Exterior Design
The SUV features slim LED daytime running lights, matrix LED headlights and a sculpted front bumper.
A pronounced shoulder line runs along the sides, while darkened rear pillars create a floating-roof appearance.
At the rear, the Atto 8 gets full-width LED taillights with an infinity-inspired design and an illuminated BYD badge.
BYD Expands Its European SUV Range
The Atto 8 joins BYD’s expanding European lineup, which includes the Atto 2, Atto 3, EVO, Sealion 5, Seal U and Sealion 7.
Its debut comes as Chinese automakers continue to increase their presence in Europe.
A total of 20 Chinese brands are participating in the 2026 Paris Motor Show.
BYD is also displaying its Shark plug-in hybrid pickup, with European sales expected within the next six months.
Launch Timing and Pakistan Availability
The BYD Atto 8 is scheduled to launch in Europe during the first quarter of 2027.
European pricing and country-specific availability have not yet been announced.
There is also no confirmed launch date or pricing for Pakistan at this stage.
With seven seats, more than 600 km of WLTP range and charging times approaching conventional refueling stops, the Atto 8 represents one of BYD’s most ambitious electric SUVs yet.
