SAN ANGELO, Texas (Concho Valley Homepage) — The Lake View Chiefs are excited to have an open date in the schedule this week, and who could blame them?
The Chiefs wrapped up non-district play with three-straight overtime losses. They lost 27-21 at home against Class 5A Pflugerville Connally this past Friday.
Lake View could easily be 6-1 right now, but because of the OT losses, they're sitting at 3-4.
Before falling it OT against Connally last week, the Chiefs dropped an overtime game against Big Spring, followed by a double-overtime setback against Levelland two weeks ago.
The Chiefs have been hit hard by injuries, forcing them to shuffle the lineup and play with a next-man-up mentality.
Lake View will open District 3-4A Division I action against Plainview on Friday, Oct. 23 at San Angelo Stadium.
