Ghanaian rapper Sarkodie has ruled out taking a second wife, saying he does not have the capacity to handle the stress that would come with it.
He made the statement in a recent interview with Serwaa Amihere on When We Sit, in response to a question about whether he would follow in the footsteps of his friend Shatta Wale and take two wives.
“It’s not something I have thought about. The stress I will face. I don’t think I have the bandwidth for that,” he said.
Asked if he would consider having another wife if it came without stress, Sarkodie answered in the negative.
Sarkodie is married to Tracy Sarkcess, with whom he has two children. The couple tied the knot in a private wedding ceremony in July 2018, after several years together.
Tracy Sarkcess has supported the rapper throughout his music career and is also involved in business. She has maintained a relatively private family life despite her husband’s prominence in the Ghanaian entertainment industry.
The couple’s children occasionally feature in family moments shared on social media, although Sarkodie and Tracy generally keep details of their family life away from the public eye.
Sarkodie, born Michael Owusu Addo, is one of Ghana’s leading rappers, known for his contributions to hip-hop and hiplife. His career has earned him recognition both locally and internationally.
