Alleged mobile snatcher caught by passengers, dragged alongside running train in Bihar’s Bhagalpur

A mobile snatcher in the Bhagalpur district of Bihar was caught by the passengers when he made an attempt to allegedly snatch a mobile of a passenger from a running train.

The passengers caught the youth as he tried to snatch a mobile phone through the window of the moving train’s general coach and dragged him alongside the train for some distance. He eventually fell and sustained injuries when his grip slipped near the end of the platform. Passengers at the railway station also witnessed the incident.

A team of Railway Protection Force (RPF) apprehended him following the incident. A 50-second video of the entire episode has also gone viral on social media. The incident took place at Shivnarayanpur Railway Station in Bhagalpur district under Eastern Railway Zone (ERZ)

RPF subsequently took him into custody; however, the identity of the youth involved and other details have not been made public.

While speaking to The Hindu, the Chief Public Relations Officer (CPRO) of Eastern Railway said that the video is old and he was unable to share more details.
