The Women Empowerment Telugu Association (WETA) celebrated Bathukamma and Dasara at Windemere Ranch Middle School in San Ramon, California, bringing the Telugu community together to celebrate its culture and traditions.
Telangana MLA from Kodad, N. Padmavathi Reddy attended the event as chief guest. Women made bathukammas (floral arrangements) and played around it, singing songs and reliving their life in Telangana before they moved to the USA.
The celebrations highlighted the spirit of togetherness and the preservation of Telugu cultural traditions among the diaspora, said Congress leader and NRI Jhansi Reddy.
The programme featured Mogudzpellamz, presented by Bobby and Chandu. The event was organised under the banner of WETA, which promotes women’s empowerment and Telugu cultural heritage in the USA.
