Cargo volumes reached an estimated 3.7 million tonnes, representing a 15% increase. According to the Centre for High North Logistics, the Arctic shipping corridor could record approximately 150 voyages by the end of 2026.
Container traffic along the Arctic route is also increasing, with 13 voyages recorded by September, including four international journeys between Asia and Europe.
Oil tankers remained the largest cargo segment, transporting approximately 2.1 million tonnes eastward. Improved ice conditions allowed vessels to navigate more freely in September, extending the shipping season compared with previous years.
