Oxford International School celebrated Grandparents’ Day 2026–27 across its five campuses in Dhanmondi, Uttara, Banasree, Gulshan and Old Dhaka, bringing together around 600 grandparents, students, parents and teachers.
The event celebrated the love, wisdom and guidance of grandparents and recognised their role in shaping children’s lives, preserving family traditions and strengthening bonds between generations.
The programme featured a range of student performances, including songs, dances, recitations and storytelling sessions. A special fashion show featuring grandparents alongside their grandchildren added to the festivities.
A slideshow showcasing cherished moments shared by grandparents and grandchildren also moved the audience, highlighting the value of spending quality time together.
One of the key attractions was a storytelling session in which grandparents shared personal experiences, memories and life lessons with students. The exchanges helped children learn about the experiences of older generations while fostering mutual understanding and appreciation.
The celebration also highlighted the contributions grandparents make through their care, wisdom and sacrifices, providing children with a sense of belonging, security and continuity.
Through the initiative, Oxford International School reaffirmed its commitment to promoting empathy, gratitude, respect and togetherness among students, emphasising that education extends beyond classrooms to include an appreciation of family and community.
The celebration concluded with expressions of gratitude and the sharing of memories, leaving participants with a renewed appreciation for the role grandparents play in nurturing future generations.
