BATON ROUGE – An already thin position for LSU football could possibly be even thinner when it takes the field versus Mississippi State inside Tiger Stadium Saturday, Oct. 17.
Sophomore linebacker Tylen Singleton was listed as questionable on the first SEC-mandated injury report of the week for the No. 21 LSU (4-2, 1-2 SEC) game against the Bulldogs that was released Wednesday night.
This is the first time Singleton has found his way onto injured list for the Tigers this season. And it comes at a less than ideal time as quarterback Kamario Taylor and the high-flying No. 19 Mississippi State (4-1, 2-1) offense comes to Baton Rouge for a pivotal conference showdown.

LSU RANKINGS Where is LSU football ranked after overtime loss at Kentucky in Week 6?
LSU is already down star senior linebacker Whit Weeks, who fractured his fibula in his right leg during the Texas A&M game three weeks ago. So LSU defensive coordinator Blake Baker was already calling on a reserve to step into a more prevalent role within the defense. Reserve linebacker Charles Ross II was also lost for the season against McNeese the following weekend due to a lower leg injury.
Singleton has earned a few more snaps in the aftermath of Weeks going down. So far through six games, Singleton has recorded eight tackles.
As expected, LSU will be without star junior tight end Trey'Dez Green, safety Dashawn Spears and sophomore wide receiver Phillip Wright III this week.
