The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate for Ifo Constituency II in the Ogun state House of Assembly, Omotunde Ayoade, has pledged to prioritise youth empowerment, infrastructure development, and accountable representation if elected in 2027.
Ayoade made the pledge on Friday during the unveiling of his campaign Media Committee at Agbado Ward 04, Ifo local government area, where he outlined his legislative agenda.
He said his ambition was to transform political promises into measurable improvements in education, healthcare, infrastructure, and economic opportunities, stressing that residents deserved effective and people-oriented representation.
The assembly hopeful identified education, vocational training, entrepreneurship, and youth empowerment as key priorities, promising to pursue initiatives that would equip young people with relevant skills and promote economic independence.
On infrastructure, he highlighted the need for better roads, functional drainage systems, improved healthcare access and an environment conducive to business activities.
He also promised transparency, regular consultations with constituents and periodic updates on his legislative activities, including bills, motions and oversight interventions.
Speaking at the event, the PDP chairman in Ifo local government area, Olalekan Olufemi, expressed concerns over what he described as “persistent development challenges” confronting the constituency over the past 24 years.
He called for improved representation and greater accountability from elected officials, including the incumbent lawmaker.
Ayoade said his proposed representation would be driven by issue-based politics, constructive opposition and measurable results, urging voters to assess political leaders by their commitment to addressing community needs.
