Artificial intelligence is becoming a part of modern dating in India. Reportedly, more than half of surveyed singles use AI to review messages before sending them. Aisle’s 2026 industry report, How India Is Using Technology to Navigate Love, highlights how people are using AI to improve their dating profiles, refine conversations and seek relationship advice. However, the findings also point to concerns about authenticity and trust. The report draws on responses from 8,240 urban Indian singles.
AI as a Digital Dating Assistant
According to the report, 51.2% of respondents run dating messages through AI before sending them. Another 46% have used it to write or improve their dating profiles. The findings suggest that singles use AI to shape their profiles and refine messages before sending them to potential partners.
However, using AI themselves does not mean respondents are comfortable with its use by others. The survey found that 24.3% of participants use AI themselves but would be bothered if their match did the same.
Authenticity Remains a Concern
The findings highlight a gap between using AI as a personal assistant and accepting AI-generated content from potential partners. Around 40.2% of respondents said they would feel deceived if they discovered that a match’s photograph had been generated or enhanced using AI.
The report also found that 51.9% of women ignore opening messages that sound AI-generated. Around 53.1% of women use it to discuss their feelings and relationship concerns.
The technology can offer another perspective when users are navigating difficult conversations or trying to understand their emotions. However, its growing role does not necessarily translate into greater trust in automated advice. In fact, 64.2% of respondents said they trust their own instincts over AI. Aisle’s findings point to a nuanced relationship between technology and romance.
