There have been many MVPs on this Milwaukee Brewers team throughout their World Series run in 2026.
And Aaron Ashby is certainly one of them.
The Brewers relief pitcher is on a historic stretch during the playoffs and it continued in the Brewers’ come-from-behind 5-4 win in Game 2 on Saturday, Oct. 24, at American Family Field.
He recorded the final two outs in the eighth inning and then returned for the ninth inning as the Brewers held the one-run lead. A leadoff double could have spelled trouble for many pitchers. Not Ashby. Not in the 2026 playoffs.
If the baseball world didn’t know, Ashby doesn’t allow anyone to score. And that’s what happened as he again kept the opposition off the scoreboard to notch another save.
Ashby is now up to 15⅔ scoreless innings in relief this postseason, often going multiple innings.
MLB fans reacted to Ashby’s dominance:

Aaron Ashby is the first pitcher in postseason history to get at least 5 outs in six consecutive appearances and not allow a run in any of them https://t.co/cyhbtasT6X

I admit I hadn’t watched all that many Brewers games before the postseason - but does Aaron Ashby just pitch every single game they play?
