If you’re planning to watch Tyson Fury vs. Anthony Joshua’s epic clash in Cardiff in December, you might need a midday nap to stay up through the main event. Tickets for the event sold out in 40 minutes, but the ring walk is set for 1 AM. If you’re familiar with most major fights, that’s a good hour or so later than most main events. Something tells me, fans will be willing to stay up late, tuned into Netflix to catch the biggest heavyweight fight in Britain’s history. Let’s talk boxing.

An application to Cardiff Council seeks the 1 a.m. ring walk, which works out to 8 p.m. ET in the U.S., and Eddie Hearn says the contracts cap it at 2 a.m. More than 500,000 fans joined the online ticket queue, and primary-market prices ran from £88.50 to £13,128.
Fans who tune in early seem destined for a star-studded evening of fights. There are strong indications that cruiserweight kingpin Jai Opetaia could be facing former WBC heavyweight champion, Deontay Wilder. Also, Manny Pacquiao is rumored to make his return to the ring at 47 on the card. Likewise, Keyshawn Davis and Richardson Hitchins are seemingly locked in to fight at 147 pounds. I wouldn’t be surprised to see at least one or two other interesting fights land on the undercard.

By the time Fury and Joshua are ready for their ringwalks, Dana White and Eddie Hearn might be arm wrestling in the middle of the ring with an announcer screaming, “are you not entertained?” I’m kidding, but I hesitate to dismiss anything as too out of the question for boxing.
