Mityana District Chairperson Joseph Luzige has urged residents grappling with poor road conditions, particularly during the rainy season, to remain calm and avoid actions that could trigger tension as they seek solutions to challenges affecting their communities.
Luzige said residents affected by deteriorating road conditions should exercise patience and engage their leaders through peaceful and constructive means rather than resorting to actions that could spark unnecessary conflict.
He acknowledged the difficulties faced by communities using roads that become increasingly impassable during rainy weather but appealed to residents to remain calm as efforts to improve road conditions continue.
“I appeal to residents experiencing challenges because of the poor state of their roads to remain calm and avoid anything that could incite tension among community members,” Luzige said.
He urged residents to channel their concerns through the relevant authorities to ensure their grievances are addressed without compromising peace and security.
During the rainy season, poorly maintained roads often become difficult to navigate, disrupting movement and making it harder for residents to access essential services and carry out their daily activities.
Luzige's appeal comes amid concerns from communities struggling with deteriorating road conditions, especially during periods of heavy rainfall.
He encouraged residents to work closely with local leaders to communicate their concerns and seek appropriate interventions rather than engage in confrontations that could worsen the situation.
The district leadership is expected to continue engaging relevant stakeholders to address the concerns raised by residents as communities call for improved road conditions and better access to essential services.
