Celtic are in Leith today to take on Hibs in the midday kick-off in the Scottish Premiership which is live on Sky Sports…

Yesterday, the Rangers narrowed the gap at the top of the table to just one point with their win at Ibrox over St Johnstone, so Martin O’Neill’s side will be anxious to put aside the frustrations from the latest European setback on Thursday evening by taking the points today at Easter Road.

Martin O’Neill will be without Auston Trusty following the sad passing of his father earlier this week. Callum Osmand is a doubt after cramping up against Celta Vigo but there’s a chance Jota will get his first start since that fateful day for him at Tannadice in early April 2025, when Celtic wrapped up the title.
Alistair Johnston and Cameron Carter-Vickers will also be available with both likely to be on the bench for the Champions.

Callum Osmand is likely to drop to the bench as Martin O’Neill and his staff look to manage the youngster’s minutes after starting against both Hearts and Celta Vigo over the past week.
It will be interesting to see if Sam Johnstone keeps the gloves after being a surprise starter on Thursday night in the 2-1 home defeat to the La Liga outfit. Viljami Sinisalo previously admitted that he was stunned to have been dropped for the Premier Sports Cup tie against the Rangers at Ibrox.
Today we should find out who Martin O’Neill sees as his first pick keeper and it’s really toss of a coin guessing which way that one will go.

The Hibs View

The new Hibs boss Marink Reedijk spoke earlier in the week via Edinburgh Evening News about the visit of Celtic to Easter Road as he tries to kick-start his own time at the Scottish Premiership’s bottom of the table side.
“What is changing the approach? It’s a good question. I think you always do the things we do from a fundamental standpoint. Our principles, we always do. The question is what you tweak against every opponent.
“If it’s Celtic or if it’s someone else, that doesn’t matter, you always tweak according to where we can hurt the opponent – or where they can challenge us.
“I’ve seen the summary (of Celtic vs Hearts), yes. Football is a game of momentum. They had these two corners, two goals immediately. Then I believe it was a mistake – and it’s 3-0. It’s a totally different game than if it stays 0-0.
“I think that’s important to realise. Then going into the bigger details, we go into those today and then tomorrow – and then later we will have a solution.
“Celtic has good individual players. Obviously the result speaks for itself at the weekend. They are a team who want to dominate the game. And it’s a great challenge in order to see where we are at.”

Predicted Score
Hibs have already beaten the Rangers this season and will be looking to complete the Glasgow double particularly as they are in desperate need of the points. Celtic’s recent record of five defeats from seven matches is hardly impressive. However the 7-1 win over Hearts last weekend gives Martin O’Neill’s side the chance to complete their own Edinburgh double but today will be a much tighter affair, with Celtic perhaps having too much firepower for the Easter Road strugglers. Predicted score is Hibs 1 Celtic 3.
