The Badham Street store averages 3.67 stars from 221 reviews.

"We have a 50/50 hit rate of getting every item we purchase with them often leaving products missing with no communication," one shopper posted in June 2026.

The best-rated Coles in the ACT is Coles Amaroo at 4.14, according to a new report.

But Coles is still ahead of Woolworths in the ACT.

The ACT has 13 Coles supermarkets in the recent rankings, averaging 3.92 - the lowest-rated of any state or territory. Queensland is the highest-rated at 4.08.

That score still puts Coles ahead of Woolworths in the ACT, whose stores average 3.87 stars.

While the Coles at Dickson received a recent makeover, reopening in 2023, the revamp didn't stop it coming in at No.7 in the top 10 worst Coles in Australia, based on 221 reviews.

The worst-rated Coles in Australia was Coles Chadstone Village, Ashwood in Victoria and the best-rated in the nation was Coles Flagstone in Queensland.

The figures come from web SEO experts at seobacklinks.com, who pulled the Google Maps listings for Coles, Woolworths and Aldi supermarkets across Australia on October 5, 2026.

They kept the 830 Coles supermarkets, including smaller Coles Local stores, that were open and had at least 200 Google reviews, 622,155 reviews in all, and ranked them by their exact average rating.

The company has been asked why it focused only on Coles and did not pursue the more detailed ratings for Woolworths and Aldi.

That average rating was "worked out from each store's count of one, two, three, four and five-star reviews, rather than the rounded score Google displays, so stores that show the same rating on Google are still put in order".

Separate listings for liquor, petrol, online and express sites, closed stores and duplicate listings at the same address were left out. State and territory averages give every store equal weight, and each state and territory has at least seven Coles in the ranking.

"What kind of supermarket has run out of roast beef and rotisserie chickens by 6pm on a Monday?" one Dickson shopper asked.

Oliver Weston, founder of seobacklinks.com, said the same complaints kept coming up about the stores.

"There's not much between Coles and Woolworths on price, so for most people it comes down to which store is closest and how that store treats them," he said.

"At the bottom of the list, the same complaints keep coming up, like waiting for a click and collect order that doesn't arrive, phones nobody answers and nobody on the checkouts.

"Those reviews sit right under the store's name when people search for a Coles near them, and a lot of shoppers will happily drive an extra few minutes to the one with the better score.

"If you use click and collect, it's worth checking the reviews for your store before you pick a time."
