A $16m redevelopment of the Marangaroo Public Golf Course has taken a major step forward, with a contractor now appointed to deliver the upgrades.
The project involves the creation of a two-level 44-bay undercover driving range, along with a simulator and tuition room, a new pro shop, changing rooms, expanded hospitality areas and more parking, with completion scheduled for late 2027.
Initial site works began in August, ahead of Hoskins Contracting being appointed to carry out the redevelopment.
Wanneroo mayor Linda Aitken said the new facilities would make it easier for people of all ages and abilities to learn and enjoy the game of golf.
“Marangaroo has been part of our local golfing community for almost 40 years, and this investment will help ensure it continues to be enjoyed for generations to come,” Ms Aitken said.
“The new facilities will give experienced golfers more opportunities to practise and improve their game, while making it easier for beginners and families to get involved.
“It’s about building on what people already love about Marangaroo and creating a welcoming place for more of our community to enjoy.”

Until now, the course’s grass driving range has remained largely unchanged since it opened in 1988.
The works form part of a broader investment in the city’s public golf courses under its public golf course strategic plan 2024–2039, with $10m also being spent on upgrades to the Carramar course.
Both courses are set to remain open throughout construction, though some temporary closures are expected in certain areas.
The City of Wanneroo owns the two courses, which are managed on its behalf by Belgravia Leisure.
Belgravia Leisure Business operations manager Douglas Bailey said the company looked forward to visitors enjoying the new facilities.
“Belgravia Leisure and Hoskins Contracting are united in our commitment to creating an outstanding facility for the community,” he said.
“We look forward to seeing golfers and visitors enjoy this exceptional new clubhouse and driving range for many years to come.”
