Living on the Road Saves the Family Thousands Annually
According to a report by The Mirror, the family spends approximately £280 (KSh 46,000) a month travelling through different countries, compared with the £420 (KSh 69,000) they spent monthly on living costs in the UK.
The difference allows the family to save approximately KSh 23,000 every month, amounting to around KSh 276,000 annually.
The family has visited 17 countries, including Costa Rica, Guatemala, Ecuador and Indonesia. They typically stay in Airbnb accommodation for four weeks at a time.
Their travels are funded through Steven's remote online coaching business, which allows him to continue working while the family explores different destinations.
Parents Embrace World-Schooling While Travelling
The couple has embraced “world-schooling”, an approach that allows their children to learn through everyday experiences and exposure to different cultures rather than relying solely on a traditional classroom environment.
Their children develop practical skills by counting using local currencies, learning languages while travelling and exploring nature in the countries they visit.
Ruth shared that the children receive no screen time during their travels. She explained that the experience has helped them develop patience and creativity while building confidence throughout their global journey.
