Florida State announced a new football game-day experience for the Seminoles Oct. 31 clash with Clemson at Doak Campbell Stadium, dubbed "Operation Garnet Storm."
Included in the offerings are multiple Halloween-themed events and specials, including a Halloween drink, candy for fans in costumes, special concession pricing for students, and a Trunk or Treat starting at 3 p.m. on Langford Green, among other things.
The game will also feature multiple military appreciation elements. Those include, according to a press release sent out by the university, a pregame parachute jump by the USSOCOM Para-Commandos from MacDill Air Force Base in Tampa. The national anthem will feature the joint FSU/FAMU ROTC color guard and March-On with enhanced pyrotechnics, and FSU will be led out on the field by three players carrying the American flag, POW-MIA flag and FSU flag.
The first half will also feature recognitions of veterans, current service members and leadership, as well as videos of FSU football players with ties to the military.
“Operation Garnet Storm is a comprehensive campaign to provide our fans a one-of-a-kind experience in Doak Campbell Stadium,” interim director of athletics Bruce Warwick said in the press release. “We are excited to enhance our many traditions while also creating new memories with elements that are making their Doak Campbell Stadium debut. From the moment they arrive until after the game, fans will have opportunities to engage, interact and enjoy Saturday night in Tallahassee.”
FSU will honor Peter Warrick for his induction into the College Football Hall of Fame during the first quarter of the game. The program will also have a drone show to accompany the Marching Chiefs halftime performance.
