A 27-year woman has been charged after a police officer was shot in Nottingham city centre over the weekend.
Aisha Zaman, of Collison Street, Hyson Green, has been charged with possession of a prohibited firearm and possession of that firearm with intent.
She has been remanded into custody and will appear before Nottingham Magistrates' Court tomorrow.
Zaman was one of four people arrested in connection with the shooting, alongside another woman and two men who fled after the officer was shot in the foot in the early hours of Sunday.
The victim had approached two people acting suspiciously at a bus stop in the Radford area of the city centre, at around 4:50am - before being shot.
He was treated outside a McDonald's before being transferred to hospital, where he was said to be in a stable condition.
A sawn-off shotgun was found on the street, which is one of Nottingham's busiest and near the city's council building.
Detective Chief Superintendent Rich Bull, who is leading the investigation, said on Thursday evening: 'We would just like to take this moment to thank the public. The outpouring of support for the injured officer has been greatly appreciated.
'We continue to support him as he undergoes further treatment in hospital and are keeping him and his family fully informed of the developments in this investigation.
