PESHAWAR: The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa parliamentary party has nominated Ali Amin Gandapur as the provincial representative in the negotiation process, ARY News reported.
According to a statement issued after a meeting of the provincial parliamentary party, the decision to include Gandapur in the central negotiation process was taken in view of his experience.
The statement reaffirmed that Sohail Afridi is the party’s chief minister in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, while Junaid Akbar is the provincial president.
The parliamentary party also expressed concern over a statement and tweet by Salman Akram Raja.
It urged PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar Ali Khan to take notice of Raja’s remarks.
The party further demanded that Salman Akram Raja withdraw his statement and apologise to the provincial parliamentary party.
Earlier, an alleged audio recording of former Khyber Pakhtunkhwa chief minister Ali Amin Gandapur discussing Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Secretary General Salman Akram Raja surfaced, with Gandapur blaming Raja’s planning and strategy for the government’s removal.
The recording features Gandapur expressing anger over Raja’s recent tweet and accusing him of failing to deliver results despite being given responsibilities.
In the leaked audio, Gandapur says the party is now facing the consequences of Raja’s poor planning, adding that Raja was neither given full authority nor able to deliver.
Gandapur also demanded that Raja immediately delete his tweet, explain his allegations and apologise.
He further claimed that Raja had repeatedly been invited to meetings of the parliamentary committee but had failed to attend.
“We respect him only because of PTI founder Imran Khan,” Gandapur said in the alleged recording, adding that he did not understand who was feeding Raja incorrect information.
The alleged audio has brought internal differences within PTI’s leadership into the spotlight.
