Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Faisal Karim Kundi has pledged to use the province’s natural resources to support its prosperity. He said KP possesses significant reserves of oil, gas and minerals, alongside tobacco, electricity and other resources. Speaking to reporters in Peshawar, Kundi said the government would prioritise protecting the province and its people before pursuing agreements with companies.
The governor said authorities would not compromise on operations against illegal encroachments. He also highlighted a cleanliness campaign aimed at making the province cleaner. Kundi said these efforts formed part of broader measures to improve conditions across KP.

Discussing the wheat issue at the Azakhel warehouse, Kundi said he had received a report. He added that anyone found responsible for wrongdoing would face the consequences. However, he did not provide further details about the report or identify any individuals responsible.
Kundi said the province’s natural resources could contribute to its economic development. He identified oil, gas, minerals, tobacco and electricity among the resources available to KP. He stressed that authorities wanted to use these assets to improve the province’s prosperity.
The governor said the province would first focus on protecting its interests and residents. After that, he said, authorities would pursue agreements with domestic and international companies. His remarks indicated that resource development and investment would remain important priorities.
Kundi also addressed criticism of the government’s approach. He said authorities would accept criticism when it aimed to encourage improvements. He added that the administration expected conditions to improve through its efforts. His comments came as questions about the province’s natural resources remained part of public debate.
The governor also criticised political groups that organise protest rallies and demonstrations. Referring to Afghanistan, he questioned how certain individuals could take action against people when, according to his remarks, their loyalties lay there. He did not name the individuals in the reported comments. His statements combined a pledge to develop KP’s resources with remarks on administration and political opposition.
