Democrats have been unusually mask-off heading into midterm election season, trying to get voters to believe it’s “moderate” to accept Islamist communism because of high gas prices. The latest foreboding reveal came from Michigan Sen. Elissa Slotkin over the weekend.
She bird-handed the formerly subtextual part on camera: “I wanna look at these signature cases and not just focus on the president but on the people who enabled him. I want young people coming out of school to say, ‘Should I go work for the Trump administration? Like, that sounds fun, I might get an opportunity.’ I want them to be like, ‘[Anti-Christian blasphemy], that might be buying myself a ton of problems that I don’t want, so let me avoid participating in that.’ I want that deterrence message.”

It took six years just to find out that Democrats already did exactly this to well more than half a million Republicans and hundreds of conservative nonprofit and political organizations under the pretext of investigating President Donald Trump and anyone who might adhere to conservative wrongthink who stepped foot in Washington, D.C. on Jan. 6, 2021. It was called Arctic Frost.
The abuses already uncovered are catastrophic to public trust, which America needs to continue to function as a self-governing republic. Among the most prominent are evidence that prosecutor Jack Smith’s legal hit team knew they were violating the Constitution by secretly obtaining the private communications of sitting senators, yet they did so, then lied to Congress about it for years — so far with complete impunity.
If current Republican Senate Majority Leader John Thune doesn’t at the very least censure Slotkin for openly committing herself to continued unconstitutional abuses of power, he supports a repeat of all this. It’s that simple.
Slotkin openly sat there in the context of horrifying Arctic Frost revelations by Thune’s colleagues such as Sen. Chuck Grassley and Ron Johnson, which also directly affected dozens of his congressional caucus, and affirmed her party plans to continue subverting Congress and elections with a prosecutorial police state run by psychologically disturbed totalitarians. Committing oneself to the erasure of basic constitutional speech and association protections is definitionally and fundamentally un-American.
It’s horrifying Thune and other Republican leaders have not seen fit to ensure punishments for this behavior already. Worse than horrifying, their flaccidity ensures the Democrat outrages will continue and expand.
It should be no surprise that Slotkin, who formerly worked for the historically Communist-laden CIA under self-declared Communist voter John Brennan, supports subverting American democracy through a combination of unelected judges and nakedly partisan hit men like Smith. As Miranda DeVine notes, this isn’t Slotkin’s only public declaration of reviving the Democrat lawfare war machine against anyone associated with Trump — which of course, whether Republican leadership wants to accept or not, includes them.
“Slotkin, who fancies herself as a future president, used that same term ‘signature cases’ in a chilling speech to the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace in September when she named Interior Secretary Doug Burgum, DC U.S. Attorney Jeanine Pirro and then-Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem as the Trump officials she would target for political prosecutions that would see them jailed for 20 years,” DeVine pointed out Sunday.
The fact that Democrats feel comfortable enough to say such things in public is unsettling. Previously, they hid them behind at least a veneer of slogans about “democracy” and how “no one is above the law.” The removal of such excuses indicates they believe their power is so secure they don’t have to lie about their intentions as much as they usually do.
No matter what shocking thing they do or support, many Democrats apparently believe neither voters nor any other entity will hold them responsible. Many elected Republicans have reinforced this cocky attitude by refusing to use the power voters give them to enforce American laws and norms — such as not punishing staffers for disagreeing with Bolsheviks about politics.
That, more than anything else, is why they’re slated to lose the midterms. It’s not Trump, who seeks to deliver for his voters and has only lost ground diverting his attention from doing so to the GOP-supported Iran War, it’s Republican Party leadership failures.
Democrats own the legal apparatus. They have enough Constitution-hating federal judges who issue Soviet-style secret decisions like those unleashing Smith’s abuses, billions in annual pro-bono work stored up from the world’s biggest law firms, the entire pipeline of law schools and post-school fellowships, and much of the Department of so-called Justice.
The public faces of their legal warfare like Slotkin and Marc Elias have already boldly divulged underway efforts to double down on scorched-earth prosecutions of anyone who ever worked for a Republican once Democrats retake at least the House in two weeks. Based on their history, we know these prosecutions will be entirely political and based on falsified evidence.
The whole point is to take power in America away from the voters and consolidate it behind unelected, Communist-sympathizing judges and bureaucrats. This is the end of elections themselves, and with them the end of Congress as even a body that pretends to govern.
If Thune can’t get his caucus to man up and prosecute these republic-ending plots to the hilt like Democrats did over a handful of unruly Capitol-goers carrying Trump flags, the very least he should be able to do is get a censure motion through a technically majority-Republican Senate. If he fails to do so, the only reasonable conclusion is that he and any Republican with leadership position who acts likewise is a totalitarian Democrat co-conspirator.
